Why do we ask about fever, cold and flu symptoms when you arrive?

If our reception team asks whether you have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or other cold and flu symptoms, please don't worry - we're not looking for a reason to turn you away.

We ask these questions so we can assess you safely and protect everyone in our clinic community.

Whether you've done a COVID-19 test or not doesn't change our approach. We simply want to know if you're unwell so that we can:

• Offer you a mask if appropriate
• Seat you in an area away from vulnerable or immunocompromised patients
• Give your doctor or health practitioner the option to wear appropriate PPE during your consultation

Most importantly, we will still assess and care for you. We are not asking these questions to refuse appointments or send people away.

We simply ask that you answer honestly. This helps us protect our staff, our patients, and the wider community while ensuring everyone receives the care they need.
