Drinking less reduces cancer

New research has shown that if Australians reduce their annual alcohol consumption by one litre per person, thousands of cancer deaths could be prevented each year.

The La Trobe Uni study analysed over 70 yrs if Australian mortality, alcohol and tobacco consumption, and health expenditure data, and the findings were published in the British Journal of Cancer.

Long term alcohol exposure is a causative factor in many cancers, including breast, bowel and liver cancer.

Choosing to drink less alcohol makes a big difference to your current and future health.
