Heart Week 1-7 May 2023
May 1st to 7th 2023 is Heart Week.
What is Heart Week?
Heart Week is Australia’s national heart health awareness week held in the first week of May each year. It provides an opportunity for the Australian public and health professionals to start a conversation about heart health and take positive steps to reduce their heart disease risk.
We'll be wearing red and promoting heart health at GHFP and Nurture this week! Get involved by asking your GP about your risk factors, and check out the Heart Foundation Heart Week page, which has information about blood pressure, and a Heart Age Calculator!
If you'd like to have a Heart Health Check first book an appointment with your GP to obtain a pathology request form to check your Lipids and Fasting Blood Glucose, then you'll be booked in with the Practice Nurse and your GP to have an ECG and follow up on the pathology results.
