New PBS listings for women's health medicines
From today 1st March 2025 some women’s health medications that were previously only available on private prescription have been added to the PBS. They include:
- Drosperinone with ethinylestradiol (Yaz®, Yasmin®)
- Estradiol (Estrogel®)
- Progesterone (Prometrium®)
- Estradiol and progesterone (Estrogel® Pro)
A PBS prescription means that your medication will be subsidised at the pharmacy, making it cheaper for you!
People who are currently using these medicines may consider seeking a new PBS prescription from their GP prior to picking up their next repeat.
We recommend a check up with your GP at least once a year. Patients who are up to date with their check ups can consider requesting a repeat prescription online.
