Covid-19 Vaccination
Covid-19 Vaccines are available at both Glebe Hill Family Practice and GHFP Nurture. The Pfizer XXB.1.5 vaccines are stocked at both practices, and can be accessed at GP appointments as well as at the bulk-billed Immunisation Clinics:
- Glebe Hill Family Pracice - Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons
- GHFP Nurture - Wednesday mornings
Key messages for COVID-19 vaccination in 2024:
- Vaccination remains the best defence against serious illness or death from COVID-19.
- XBB.1.5-containing vaccines are preferred over other COVID-19 vaccines.
- People aged under 18 are not eligible for primary or booster doses of Covid-19 vaccine unless there are specific risk factors
- COVID-19 vaccines are recommended every six months for adults aged 75 years and older.
- COVID-19 vaccines are recommended every 12 months for those aged 65-74 years, or 18-64 years with severe immunocompromise. These groups can also consider a COVID-19 vaccine every six months.
- Anyone aged 18-64 years can consider a dose every 12 months based on a risk-benefit assessment, as can those aged 5-17 with severe immunocompromise.

Current recommendations for Covid-19 boosters:
75 years and older
- Recommended every 6 months.
65-74 years
- Recommended at least every 12 months, but can receive every six months. Talk to your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits..
18-64 years
- With severe immunocompromise: Recommended at least every 12 months, but can receive every six months. Talk to your healthcare provider about the risks and benefits.
- Without severe immunocompromise: Can receive every 12 months.
5-17 years
- With severe immunocompromise: Can receive every 12 months.
- Without severe immunocompromise: Not recommended.
Under 5 years
- Not recommended.
