GHFP - Michelle Garland, Physiotherapist
BAppSci (Physio) Latrobe University

Michelle is a Physiotherapist with over 30 years’ experience treating clients in a diverse array of locations. After gaining her degree in Melbourne, Michelle returned to Tasmania working originally in neurological and spinal rehabilitation. She then relocated to South Africa for 10 years working a variety of hospital and private practice settings, including intensive care, orthopedic and trauma rehabilitation, musculoskeletal and sports injury management. She then returned to Tasmania to raise her family, working predominanatly in private practice settings. Most recently Michelle has been working with a multi-disciplinary Primary Health Team in the Centre of Tasmania to deliver care in rural and remote areas of Tasmania to Tasmanians with chronic, complex health conditions.

Michelle is passionate about delivering quality, holistic health care within a multi-disciplinary framework, assisting people to understand their condition and work with their health team for a better quality of life. She enjoys working with people at all stages in their lives- she loves variety!

Michelle loves anything to do with animals, water and sunshine and considers herself fortunate to be able to cruise Tasmania’s beautiful waterways with her husband Pete and their cavalier, Phoebe. Her grown up family are resigned to her love of motorbikes and all things fast.

Fees:

Initial Physiotherapy Consultation: $130

Subsequent Physiotherapy Consultation: $115

A $5 discount on Physiotherapy appointment fees is available for concession-card-holders on weekdays (Monday to Friday). Full fees apply to Saturday appointments.

A Medicare rebate of $58.30 may be available for patients who have:

  • an EPC referral for patients who have a GP Chronic Condition Managemet Plan, or
  • a referral from a GP for allied health services for patients who have had an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Health Check

Private referrrals are accepted. (Private Health Fund rebates vary depending on the cover).

Glebe Hill Family Practice uses HICAPS for prompt private health rebates at the surgery.

Referrals are welcome from outside of Glebe Hill Family Practice.

GHFP - Jo-Anne Flood
Registered Nurse

Jo has been nursing for 30-odd years (mainly in Cardiology but in various other specialites) and had 18 months in General Practice before joining the GHFP team in November 2022.

Jo loves having the opportunity to get to know her patients, and assisting them to achieve their health goals.

Originally from QLD, she lives locally with her husband and two teenagers. She enjoys cooking and likes to think that she is a good gardener! 
 

GHFP - Ellen
Registered Nurse

Ellen joined the GHFP Practice Nurse team in October 2022. Ellen is interested in progressing her career in primary health care after spending a number of years working in Acute Medicine at RHH. She's excited to work within her own community on the Eastern shore. She has two young boys and is happiest when out bush walking. 

GHFP - Rebecca

Rebecca joined the GHFP team in October 2022, with many years experience in medical administration.

Rebecca loves working in a team and getting to know the patients and their families.

When not at work Rebecca loves bushwalking, cooking and reading.

GHFP - Teana Grainger, Practice Manager

Teana joined the GHFP team as a Receptionist in september 2022, with previous medical administration and management experience. Teana took on the role of Assistant Practice Manager and then in July 2024 became Practice Manager.

Teana enjoys getting to know patients and also making them feel welcome and supported during their visit. In her spare time she enjoys going to live music and trying new restaurants in Hobart, she is also a diehard Geelong supporter! 

GHFP Nurture - Dr Roger Booth
BMedSc, MBBS (Hons), FRACGP

Roger trained in medicine at the University of Tasmania. Roger enjoys the variety of general practice with particular interest in preventative health, men’s health and occupational medicine (including workers compensation).  He also has an interest in expedition medicine with a recent trip to Antarctica with the Mawson’s Huts foundation as expedition medical officer.

Roger enjoys training the next generation of doctors both in general practice and his work in intensive care at the Royal Hobart Hospital.  

In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, skiing and fishing with his family.

Glebe Hill Family Practice - Dr Yee Yoon Ng
MBBS, FRACGP, ClinDipPallMed

Yee Yoon graduated from the University of New South Wales, and worked in Queensland before moving to Tasmania to work in general practice. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, and has a special interest in palliative care. 

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drawing, bushwalking and cuddling her three cats.

Glebe Hill Family Practice - Dr Parth Patel
MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Patel graduated from medical school overseas and then worked at the Royal Hobart Hospital from 2019 to 2022. Dr Patel enjoyed working in various areas in the hospital. Since starting in general practice from early 2022, he has loved working in the community, developing fulfilling therapeutic relationships with patients whom he can look after for the longer term. Parth achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2024.

Khya joined the GHFP team in June 2022, bringing over 10 years of experience in managing an Optometric Practice. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling and has a strong passion for working with people.  Outside of work, Khya enjoys spending time with family and friends and contributes to the community as a Crisis Support Counsellor with Lifeline Tasmania.

Glebe Hill Family Practice - Alison Rose
Registered Nurse, Nurse Immuniser

Ali grew up in Hobart and lives locally on the Eastern Shore with her family. She was in the first fast-track nursing course in Hobart, and worked in hospital nursing roles until she moved to general practice nursing in 2017. Ali loves to get to know her patients, building a rapport of friendship and trust. She is an Authorised Nurse Immuniser, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the GHFP team.

Outside of work Ali loves catching up with friends and family.
